Can I trust the brand names?

How much confidence can we place in brand names today? In a bygone era where a person's name was their bond, we placed great confidence in brand names when we were making purchases. Today there is more and more evidence that the top brands are being purchased by unscrupulous investment bankers that market products that don't necessarily live up to our expectations. This unfortunate practice has invaded every area of our lives, including mattress brands. It's about profits and big business.

Today's Sealy isn't manufactured by the same people who built the brand into the trusted name of yesterday. Today's Simmon's has evolved through a maze of owners over the past 30 years. The same is true of Serta, Spring Air, and many others. The name remains, but the companies and their products have moved in totally different directions.

As a retailer of such products, we spend diligent time searching out the mattress markets to try to sort through all the hype and find our customers the very best products for their money in today's evolving marketplace. It's getting more and more difficult, but we find it to be very rewarding when our customers keep coming back and trusting us with their sleep needs. The Bible says, "A good name is to be treasured more than great wealth." Somethings just shouldn't be for sale.
